Quote

Design is a way of life, a point of view. It involves the whole complex of visual communications: talent, creative ability, manual skill, and technical knowledge. Aesthetics and economics, technology and psychology are intrinsically related to the process.

~Paul Rand

Mission statement

I will continue to develop levels of understanding, intercommunication, and reach plateaus beyond the criteria in ability, experience, and knowledge.

Artist statement

“Once upon a desert bleak, while I sketch, contour line and ink,

Rummaging through the morgue and light box glow,

When I burn the midnight oil, by the recharging of the Apple…”

Let’s start by crossing the parking lot, and entering the large heavy slightly white tinged and scraped swinging doors that welcomes one to a long day of exhilarating fun. Now open the doors, and feel that tornados swirl of cold, refrigerated, dusty, smoky air, and that fragment scent of Shalimar perfume (room odorizer). Slowly the sights and sounds start to grow, clearer through the onslaught storm front, rumbling as if a bomb has been discharged. Then the blitzkrieg of lights start to burn the senses, with a nerve blistering barrage of color and eye twitching offbeat sequenced of flashing lights. The bright, but lesser hues of color almost begin to merge and become a strain of techno-sound. The sound starts to mimic the lights, and is beating stronger as if dislodging the senator, who is a half step behind on an impeachment. The sound, at times has such a tin melodic beat that you can feel your psoriasis stinging and burning the skin. Ironically the creative process is that exciting and the work will come out continually swirling in and around your extremities, clinging to your body and clothing, gripping and taking up residency, then starts an upward route to your nasal passages.

The creative process is king.

The signs lain upon the pathway are as obvious as an owl swooping and screeching by the head then perched above as to say that the time is ripe for change and change is bumpy but an exhilarating role down the hill. Change is an expansion that will bring the contemporary with the lessons of old to grow exponentially. That growth permeates the air with an exhilarating scent that captures any passer-byer, intoxicating them into a state that will not let them go. Glued to the change and a smile as a result the audience will understand and separate the wheat from the chaff and find excellence. The conglomerate has two functions to grow and hone. This is a glorious journey from seed to bloom that presents an obvious growth in the work. Inspiration is present in the everyday grind.

“It is not the inspiration that drives us but the motivation that is created upon others.”

Many have an influence on the journey but some have a lasting impact and come from unlikely places. Some are not welcome but are undeniably sound in the logic. Finally, fine art and design give great pleasure, freedom, and purpose. It transcends and infects all other genres and makes the special people that much better.
